RIP to Michel Legrand

RIP to Michel Legrand, the magnificent French Oscar-winning composer, who passed away two years ago and whose birthday was Wednesday. We believe he ranks among the greatest of all time, on a level with the Porters and Gershwins. He was best known for his score for the movie “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” and his song “Windmills of My Mind” from The Thomas Crown Affair. He wrote many songs that have become standards. Have a listen to this wonderful rendition of “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life,” poignantly sung by vocalist Mary Pearson. Thank you, Michel. What a joy to listen to your compositions.
