Happy Birthday to Uli Lenz, the brilliant jazz pianist from Germany. Uli’s Arkadia Records album, Rainmaker’s Dance, will be available on all streaming media on March 12th. With Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez on drums, Ira Coleman on bass and special guest, T.K. Blue, on alto sax. I guess this album is your birthday present to the listener.
The title song is great, but just listen to the extraordinary interplay between Uli and T.K. Blue on “Brake for the Wild Boar Blues.” That’s a true jazz conversation at the highest level. And “A Perfect Couple” is a sublime ballad.
