It’s hard to believe that Nat “King” Cole would have turned 102 years old on March 17, 2021. He was first a superstar jazz pianist before becoming one of the world’s most popular singers. We have so much to thank for his music. “Nature Boy” was his very first recording as a solo artist. He recorded previously as the King Cole Trio. This was followed by “Mona Lisa” and “Too Young.” Nat “King” Cole was Capitol Records biggest star before they signed Frank Sinatra.
Listen to this uniquely individual tribute recording of “Nature Boy” by legendary jazz pianist, Joanne Brackeen, on her Arkadia Records solo piano album, “Popsicle Illusion.”
Happy Belated Birthday, Nat.
